A place to arrive
Nestled among the quiet beauty of Varkala, Yoga Tirth is a small ashram created for those who wish to step away from the noise of everyday life and reconnect with what truly matters. Surrounded by lush greenery, gentle ocean winds, and the natural rhythm of coastal living, the space invites a slower pace, deeper presence, and meaningful reflection. Every corner of Yoga Tirth has been thoughtfully created to support simplicity, connection, and inner balance — offering a place where practice can unfold naturally and life can be experienced a little more consciously.

In the heart of Varkala
While our ashram feels peaceful and secluded, it is located just moments away from the heart of Varkala. The cliffs, beaches, cafés, and local shops are all within a short walk, allowing students to enjoy both the serenity of nature and the charm of the town. Whether watching the sunset over the Arabian Sea, taking a quiet morning walk along the beach, or simply enjoying the beauty of the surrounding landscape, Varkala becomes an integral part of the experience.

The shala
The spaces we inhabit quietly shape our experience. For this reason, we have given great care to creating an environment that supports stillness, awareness, and genuine learning.
Surrounded by nature and open to light, air, and the changing rhythms of the day, the shala invites a quality of presence that is often difficult to find in everyday life. Here, distractions begin to soften, attention naturally settles, and practice becomes less about doing and more about listening.
Whether gathering for asana, pranayama, meditation, philosophy, or quiet reflection, students share a space that supports both discipline and ease. The shala is fully equipped with quality mats and props, yet its true value lies not in what it contains, but in the atmosphere it holds— one of sincerity, simplicity, and deep respect for the practice of Yoga.
Many students arrive remembering the teachings they hope to receive, yet often leave remembering how they felt within the space itself —grounded, present, connected, and at ease.

Nourishment
At Yoga Tirth, we view food as an essential part of the yogic journey. What we eat influences not only the body, but also our energy, clarity, and state of mind. For this reason, meals are prepared with the same care and attention that we bring to our practice.
Using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients wherever possible, our kitchen serves simple, wholesome vegetarian meals inspired by the principles of a sattvic diet. Freshly cooked vegetables, whole grains, legumes, homemade spices, herbal teas, and nourishing drinks support both well-being and practice.

More than the food itself, we value the atmosphere in which it is shared. The kitchen, dining space, and meals are all approached with mindfulness and gratitude, creating moments for connection, quiet reflection, and community.
Whether gathered around a meal after morning practice or sharing conversations at the end of the day, these simple moments often become a cherished part of the experience. Here, nourishment is not only about what is placed on the plate, but also about the sense of care, presence, and belonging that accompanies it.

Eat with awareness. Digest with gratitude. Live with lightness.
