50-hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) in Varkala, India

The 50-hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) offers an in-depth exploration of Yin Yoga, focusing on the practice of long-held passive postures that target deep connective tissues, including ligaments, tendons, and fascia. This training is designed for yoga teachers and advanced practitioners who wish to deepen their understanding of Yin Yoga, its anatomical foundations, meridian theory, and how to teach this meditative and restorative style safely and effectively. Students will gain knowledge of the meridian system (based on Traditional Chinese Medicine), which plays a central role in Yin Yoga’s therapeutic benefits.

Emphasis is placed on anatomical alignment, meridian activation, breathwork, and creating mindful, restorative sequences. By the end of the training, students will be equipped with the skills to teach Yin Yoga with a deep understanding of its physical, energetic, and emotional benefits.

Our shared commitment

A Yoga Teacher Training is more than a course. It is a commitment to learning, practice, self-observation, and community living. To support this experience, we ask all students to approach the training with sincerity, openness, and a willingness to participate fully. The guidelines below are not intended as restrictions, but as a framework that helps create a focused, respectful, and supportive environment for everyone.

Yoga is often described as the calming of the fluctuations of the mind. This does not mean suppressing our natural tendencies, but learning to observe and guide them with greater awareness and discipline.

The structure of the training, daily schedule, and community guidelines are designed to support this process. By joining the training, students agree to participate wholeheartedly in creating an atmosphere that is conducive to learning, practice, and personal growth.

What we expect

  • Attend all scheduled classes and activities with punctuality and sincerity.
  • Inform the teachers in advance if illness or an emergency prevents attendance.
  • Participate fully in the daily rhythm of the training, including Karma Yoga.
  • Maintain a respectful and supportive atmosphere for fellow students, teachers, and staff.
  • Refrain from the use of alcohol, tobacco, smoking, recreational drugs, and other intoxicants during the course.
  • Follow the vegetarian lifestyle observed within the school throughout the training period.
  • Return to the premises by 10:00 PM each evening unless prior permission has been granted.
  • Respect the quiet and focused environment of the ashram.
  • Understand that personal growth and learning depend largely on individual effort, consistency, and engagement with the practices.

Should a student’s behaviour repeatedly disrupt the learning environment or cause significant in convenience to the community, the school reserves the right to discontinue their participation in the course.
